Please Help with Embossing!!!
Can someone please tell me how to white emboss on black cardstock without getting all the dust dots? The embossing powder is sticking to the cardstock in places. I've tried an embossing buddy but that leaves gray marks on the c/s. I've tried a dryer sheet. I even tried just using white craft ink instead of embossing but it looks like c^@&! I've wasted about 5 sheets of c/s and I'm getting very frustrated!
(It doesn't help that my five-yr. old son keeps asking and doesn't understand why I can't make him a light saber using Dad's tools in the basement!!!) AAAAHHHH.... Help please! |
I've found that if you use an embossing buddy on dark cardstock, you can use an eraser (I use the white artist type) after you emboss to remove the cloudy residue.

What has worked for me it to lightly rub dark cardstock w/embossing buddy and then I take a dry paint brush and brush off the embossing buddy residue. Then stamp and emboss. Hope this helps.

I really POWDER up the cardstock even smack the embossing buddy on top and RUB it in all over! then versamark, then sprinkle, then get the excess off, then emboss. Once you are done, the powder eventually goes away, not fully, but it really doesn't matter. http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...cat=500&page=3 Here it is to look at! |
I use clear embossing powder on white ink as I hate the spots too. I also do the opposite I use clear powder on black ink on white card.

Thank you all for your great suggestions. I'll try a few more times today.:)

I use a fine paint brush and dust off the particles before embossing. Seems to work for me. I tried the dryer sheet once -- forget it!!.
