Default What kind of sand paper?

I want to try some sanding on paper. What is the best kind/variety/degree of roughness to use? And any other tips for a first-time sander would be great!!

Thanks!

Someone had suggested to me to try using the light side of a emmery (sp?) board. It worked great and easy too.

Hi, I like to use the SU! sanding blocks. The foam type nail emory/buffing blocks are similiar and could be used also. These are both very fine grit and produce a soft sanding of the paper, unless you really rough it up by repeat sanding the same area over and over.

HTH,
Valerie

I find that it depends on the look you are aiming for. I like using the sanding blocks to rough up the edges, but I like 100 grit sandpaper for the linen look and to really rough up the whole sheet.

Try different kinds to get different looks. The higher the number, the less it will show on the paper.

Default Sand Paper

I have used the slightly rough nail boards to erase mistakes, believe it or not. Then I smooth it with the very fine boards. I use the rough for the edges like suggested.

I would have some rough, not so rough and slightly smooth. The small size helps with corrections. I am not real neat sometimes. LOL These have worked for me.

HTH,
Shirley

I have also used a white eraser and ink eraser at times depending on the card finish.
