Dear Linda-
Thanks so much for your help! It's an interesting site. However- I hope I can figure it out. I sent a private message to Michelle Laycock who demonstrated it in the DD gallery but so far no reply. Thanks again- Paula |

Thanks again- Paula Paula, I received a lot of emails about this technique and instead of email everyone separately, I posted a message off to Beate asking her if she wants me to do a tutorial. I haven't heard back from her yet. If she doesn't want me to, I can write up a tutorial and post it here in the Techniques area. I'm still waiting to hear from Beate. Until then, the link above gives you the "jist". |
I did a search on line and found this site on it also:

Vivian http://www.ecstasycrafts.com/pergamano/tipsandhints.htm Very nice link. However, I did my cards waaaayyyy easier than this. I guess I did the "lazy stamper's easy version of pergamano" in this month's gallery. I used all SU supplies. |

I would LOVE to learn your pergamano technique!!
Hi Michelle!
I keep checking back to see if there's any updates. I even checked your blog sitehttp://www.inkartist.blogspot.com/ (which is awesome!) and did not see it there. Did you have any luck with Beate about posting on the Wednesday tutorial? If not, is it possible for you to post on the resources? I am dying to see how you do it and I hate to order all kinds of tools since like you said, you used all SCS stuff. Thanks so much!! Vivian |
:)

Yes!
I'm still planning on doing one and Beate said when I talked with her at Leadership that she would upload it as technique of the week (or whatever she calls those monday tutorials) Thing is, I was super busy with SAB in Feb, then in March my kitty died and I was useless for like a week or so, and right now I'm in the middle of organizing a fundraiser. Pergamano tutorial is next on my list of things to do. Believe me, I'm trying! The fund raiser is April 15, so I'll be able to breathe after that and I can email Beate with the tutorial after the 15th. I promise I'll get it done! ;) |
Thank you, thank you! I just wanted to know if it was coming because I'd love to try it! :)
I am sorry about your kitty. I sent you a message but I am sure you got tons. How's your hubby doing with it? Take care, Vivian |
Our animal friends teach us more than we expected, and loved us more than we could have hoped…that’s why we miss them more than we could have imagined. With Sympathy at this time of loss. Understand completely!

Lost a private message, think it was Karen and yes feel free. Anything I post pic or other wise is always available to use!

Waiting with baited breath!!!
I keep trying to do the pergamano technique, but haven't had any luck making it look good. I don't think I'm doing it right. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to the tutorial, also!!!

Thanks so much for posting this, Michelle! I have so enjoyed your cards using the Pergamano technique. You are an exceptional talent!
|
Michelle,
You are amazing. I actually took a 2 hour class locally (one of the few certified Pergamano teachers here in WA) with my Mom and sister last fall and I thought it was rather time consuming. Your version I'd be much more likely to do and your cards are simply stunning!! Thanks for sharing all the details!! |
Wow!! and Thanks!!
Fantastic directions - Thanks for taking the time to share this beautiful technique with us!! |
I tried to follow this link but it told me I wasn't invited. Can I please be invited?

Pergamano
Ladies,
The link goes to a blog that is no longer public because I no longer represent stampin up. However, I copied the old post and pasted it here. Here is a new tutorial using all SU supplies: According to this website, the definition of Pergamano is " Also known as Parchment Craft. This arts and craft skill is relatively new to North America. Designs are created on thick parchment paper using a combination of inks, dry embossing, and paper perforation. Parchment Craft originated in Europe centuries ago. Monks and nuns used it to create Holy art works. Pergamano International re-introduced the craft in The Netherlands in 1987, where it gained instant popularity. The craft quickly spread to other European countries, and then to South America. Source While "real" Pergamano supplies are available through the Pergamano company, the Pergamano technique can be created with Stampin' Up! supplies. I've always had a love for lacy things. Perhaps that is because my ancestors where Belgian - born and raised near Brussels - the Lace capital of the world - their last names were Arkels, De Keyser, Van Der Gooten, Michels, Brabant, Bredael, Pirlet. http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gfriendp20.jpg Materials: - your Crafter's Tool kit - Paper Snips - Vellum cardstock - On Gossamer Wings stamp set - Canvas stamp - Sage Shadow cardstock, Handsome Hunter cardstock - Inks: White Craft, Handsome Hunter, Perfect Plum, Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun - Silver Brads, Aquapainter, Future Floor Wax or markers, Heat Gun, Dimensionals - Ribbons of your choice Instructions: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgfriendp1.jpg Take a piece of vellum size about 3 1/4 by about 3 1/2 inches Stamp your images in white craft ink.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgfriendp2.jpg Heat set to dry.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgfriendp3.jpg Turn your vellum over and using a stylus and mat in your Crafter's Took Kit, dry emboss the outline of your image. http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgfriendp4.jpg
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgfriendp5.jpg Turn the vellum back over to the front side.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgfriendp6.jpg Punch holes in areas of your background where you would like "shading"
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgfriendp7.jpg Using your Paper Piercing template, emboss a line on all 4 edges.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgfriendp8.jpg Line up your Paper Piecing template so that there is a row of holes above and below the dry embossed border.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgfriendp9.jpg Punch the holes.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gfriendp10.jpg Using your paper snips, snip the vellum between the dots in your border http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gfriendp11.jpg
Add some swirly lines freehand to the image using your stylus http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gfriendp12.jpg
Turn your vellum over and color in your images as desired using either markers or Aquapainter, Future Floor Wax and ink pad. You can use a regular marker to create a bold color or you can use an aquapainter filled with Future Floor Wax and pick up ink from your ink pad and color in the image. I recommend using Future Floor Wax for this instead of water. The Future Floor Wax will pick up the ink color and make it "stick" to the vellum I like the more subtle look of using the Aquapainter and Future Floor Wax. http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gfriendp13.jpg
Remember to clean your ink pad cover with a baby wipe after dipping your wax-filled aquapainter to pick up color. http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gfriendp14.jpg
The back side: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gfriendp15.jpg The front side: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gfriendp16.jpg
Stamp your canvas stamp using Handsome Hunter ink onto Sage Shadow paper. Stamp the word "friend" in White Craft ink onto the vellum. http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gfriendp17.jpg
Stamp "friend" again in Handsome Hunter ink, slightly above the white stamped "friend" to create a shadowed look. http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gfriendp18.jpg Secure vellum to Sage Shadow cardstock using silver brads.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gfriendp19.jpg Stamp your cardfront, add ribbon.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gfriendp20.jpg Mount vellum piece onto Handsome Hunter, then onto your cardfront using dimensionals. You may wish to add a cut out flower to accent the card as shown.
You are done! Here is another project: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gshapesp12.jpg Materials: - your Crafter's Tool kit - Vellum cardstock - Natural Beauty stamp set - Sweet Shapes (regionals) stamp set or Simple Shapes stamp set - White cardstock, Ruby Red cardstock - Inks: White Craft, Ruby Red, More Mustard, Really Rust, Summer Sun - gold cord, eyelets, Aquapainter, Future Floor Wax or markers, Heat Gun, Dimensionals Instructions: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgshapesp1.jpg Take a small piece of vellum (about 2 by 2 inches, you'll trim it down later)
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgshapesp2.jpg Stamp your flower in white craft ink.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgshapesp3.jpg Heat set to dry.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgshapesp4.jpg Turn your vellum over and using a stylus and mat in your Crafter's Took Kit, dry emboss the outline of your image.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgshapesp5.jpg Turn the vellum back over to the front side.
We will now create perforated cutouts in the negative space of the image. http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgshapesp6.jpg Using one of your needles in the Crafter's Tool Kit, punch holes along the inside of the negative space of your image. Then gently take your needle and tear the vellum in-between the holes
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgshapesp7.jpg Be careful not to pull the needle too hard.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgshapesp8.jpg Turn the vellum back over and color the flower with your choice of ink. You can use a regular marker to create a bold color or you can use an aquapainter filled with Future Floor Wax and pick up ink from your ink pad and color in the image. I recommend using Future Floor Wax for this instead of water. The Future Floor Wax will pick up the ink color and make it "stick" to the vellum I like the more subtle look of using the Aquapainter and Future Floor Wax.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...pgshapesp9.jpg Prepare your white cardstock and stamp your images in a collage on the front of your card in various ink colors. Mount your Pergamano image on colored cardstock, add a gold cord Color in the yellow flower center with a marker Mount on your card with dimensionals
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gshapesp10.jpg No need to use any tools to make these eyelets straight, just make your holes by punching every other dot in your square dots stamp!
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3...gshapesp12.jpg You are done!
