"PENCIL OVER" TECHNIQUE

I saw this technique used here first and asked the poster how she did this. I cannot remember who it was though. Since I posted my cards using this yesterday I have gotten a lot of requests for instructions so I thought I would post it here.

It is very easy just a little time consuming.

First choose a dark colored CS, I used black. Stamp you image(s) with white Craft ink, heat set to dry (do not emboss). Then color over the white image with your choice of colored pencils....as simple as that but the effect is so awesome.
I used two shades of each color. If you want more of a contrast then use the darker color first then the lighter, if you want a more blended look then color the whole image with the light shade then add the darker as desired.
I have one sample in my gallery right now.
Thanks again to whomever it was that was nice enough to share this with me and I hope you all will try it.
Happy stamping.

I love this card!! The white craft ink in the background really helps the colors stand out from the card background. I am going to have to try it tomorrow ( if my four year old lets me). thanks for sharing.

will white pigment ink work as long as you hit it with the heat gun or let it dry?

I really didn't think the colors would show up on black cardstock, but to my suprise it did. This is such a cool technique any one who sees this needs to try it. Thanks for sharing with us

That's really cool! I just upgraded my selection of prismacolors so anything I can do with colored pencils is great!
