No, it was not tea bag folding. Under Techniques in the description it said tea bagging. I know what tea bag Folding is and there was none on this card. It almost looked like on the card they were trying to do an antique stain on the cardstock?
This is the card that I saw if you would like to look at it and then maybe you can tell me what they mean. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I did notice on another card that was similar that under technique instead of calling it tea bagging they called it tea bag staining?
I think she used a used tea bag (damp) to stain the paper - I'm not quite sure how it is done but it looks like it was set there allowed to saturate the paper then removed

I think Kate is right -- she either used a tea bag, strong tea itself (I've seen Anna Griffin do that technique) or possibly tea dye varnish, tho I doubt it. Anyway, the tea stains the paper and makes it look aged. I have done a similiar thing with walnut ink.
My mom embroiders and hand stitches A LOT and tea staining is her favorite way to make her white materials "vintage" and she's kind of "invented" a quicker and less messy way to get the same look. She buys Lipton's instant tea (unsweetened) that you spoon into your glass. She then puts that in a salt shaker type thing. She then uses a spray bottle and makes the material damp. Then she takes her "tea shaker" and shakes some tea onto the material. She then rubs it around. She then wrinkles it up and lightly shakes more tea on it (that time it gives it the darker smudgier irregular spots). She puts a metal cooling rack on a cookie sheet. She puts the material on the cooling rack making sure it's still wrinkled quite a bit and puts it in a warm oven for a few minutes until it's dry. When I made stockings for my family for Christmas, I did kind of the same thing, but I wrinkled it, and ironed it. It gave a similar effect, but my wrinkle lines were darker. My mom's are softer. I've never thought of using this on cardstock. Probably works well though...

Ummmm, there's a term for that activity???? Why would it be called that? What does tea bags have to do with that part of a man's anatomy?? I don't know if I can look at tea bags the same way anymore!

you know how men joke and play around my 20 yr old stepson and my husband are constantly threatening to do this when the other is sleeping...that's maturity for you. I guess the term "tea bagging" most closely resembles testicles??? I had never heard of it until I got married...that and butt waxed became a regular topic of conversation..who would have thought? Oh the mysteries of the male mind....

Yeah I showed my dh and he thought it was pretty funny that I didn't know what it was. He thinks I am so naive; I guess I am, but I am happier that I HAVEN'T had experience with this "activity." LOL

And to think that when I asked this question my mind was totally on stamping! That is how the technique was listed on the sample. Guess I must be naive too!

Hi, I too was out of the loop and had no idea there was an expreshion like this! Don't know if I will ask DH if he knows it or not, I'm shure our 27 year old son knows it, will ask him next time I'm talking to him.

When I saw the title of this post I thought - "No she didn't!" Then the more I read, the more I laughed. I'm 41 and have never heard of this up until a few years ago. Thankfully, we have an open line of communication in my office and I had a younger guy tell me what it was. I had to share this thread with others in the office. I guess we all need a good laugh and this was it for me today!

OK. I've been enlightened! I had no idea. :rolleyes:
However, I did use a tea bag on a VSN card last weekend. It gives it an antique look. I used it on watercolor paper and then stamped the image on top of it once it dried.
