Paper pleating

Does anybody use these techniques? I have recently purchased a book by Anna Griffin and I am finding that the instructions are less than adequate. I love her style, but the person who wrote the instructions must not have had his or her mind on the directions. The measurements for a box pleat are completely off, turned around in fact...but my question is...

Are pencil pleating and pinch pleating the same technique? Other than Anna Griffin, it is hard to find a source for paper pleating technique. The search on origami has not been helpful at all.

If you want the other kind measure equal distance from the centre///i.e 1"

mark from the centre 1 2 5 3 4.
The centre will be number 5

Score lines 1 2 and 3 4

fold these into 5. so lines 1 and 3 meet.

you have made a box pleat.

to repeat leave 2" space and do the 1 2 3 4 5 again.

Hi Sharron,

Thanks, I have used them as a resource as well. I have only met one person, who happens to be my sister whom spells her name with two r's....

I recently purchased some of Anna's stamps. I agree, the instructions were inadequate. I struggled with the paper pleating. I will post the card. Not my greatest card. Wish I would have checked this post before pleating my paper. Thanks for info.
