How cool is that??? It looks like even a 5 year old can do it, so I actually have a chance at it coming out right!

That's it!!

I was looking for exactly those instructions a few weeks ago when another poster needed help making flowers. She ended up using my other suggestion of quilled paper roses, but DANG I wish I could have found this then!

Thanks Archana, for sharing this tutorial. I tried it and loved the results. You can see it on this card here:

The attachment is too blurry to read the words, although I can "follow" the pictures just fine. Does anybody know how big the spiral is supposed to be when you start out? I know it probably varies, depending on how big you want your flower. I'm just wondering if it gives a specific measurement on the tutorial.

Thanks!

I'm curious how easy it was to adhere to the card. These are too cool! :)

At first I tried a circle that was about 3 inches in diameter and ended up with a giant flower. For my card I used a 1" circle punch. I think it is the perfect size. I am going to try a 1 1/2" circle today. It was really easy to glue to the card. I just added a drop of Aleene's tacky glue to the bottom of the spiral flowers and put them on the punched flowers. Then I added just a drop of Aleene's tacky glue to adhere the flowers to the card. I made my leaves by folding a piece of green cardstock through my paper crimper at an angle. Then I cut out a leaf shape.

The coffee filter looks like it gives the flower texture.

I made another card today using this technique. I cut two circles at a time of two different colors. That made for mulicolored roses.
Paper Flowers

What I did differently with these flowers was I cut my spiral with wavy cuts instead of straight cuts. That helped add texture.

This card is absolutely gorgeous.... such a beauty... the glitter has made it stand out so well... the card looks like it has popped out from those gardens we see in the fairytales' books

Nicole's Mom 02-10-2009 10:12 AM

very nice.....just wondering where you glue it.....is it at the end of the spiral or underneath it

What I have started doing is punching my 1" circle and then punching that circle with a smaller circle about 1/4" circle and then cutting my spiral. I then take the smaller circle and glue it to the bottom of the flower. I have attached a photo showing the steps. I also attached a photo showing the tools.
