Paper Cubes?
I thought I saw on this site a while back some examples of paper cubes with the sides stamped to give as gifts. I cannot seem to find them in the gallery, does anyone happen to know if there are samples anywhere? Or what is the technique for stamping them (i.e. keeping the cube together while you stamp it).
Thanks so much! Laura:D |
I have made many of these. I just squeezed the cube tightly while stamping.

Search using "memo cube". Hope that helps!

IS THERE A PLACE YOU CAN GET THESE CUBES CHEEP?

I bought mine at Xpedex on a monster blowout sale for $1. I don't know if they are a big chain or have online ordering, I'm sure they're more money now. Just last week I noticed them at Office Max by the post-it note pads. But they were close to $5 each.

I bought mine through: stamponthis.com
I bought 16. Great customer service and even sent a refund because she could mail it cheaper than expected. I would order from her again! |
Oh yeah..When I made mine (for co-worker gifts) I made the matching pen and also matching coaster. My boss' wife liked his coaster so much she won't let him use it. It is displayed on their mantle.

A coaster sounds cute, is that in the gallery? I'd love to see one of those.

I haven't uploaded any of my projects...yet. Check out these from other SCS members.

I used a thick rubber band to hold the cube in place so I could stamp on it. I just moved the rubber band around to stamp the different sides of the cube. This worked very well for my DS and DD so they too could stamp these. They were very nice as gifts and the kids were proud that they had made them!

I've stamped many memo cubes myself. I'm in a unique situation. I work at a printing company and I can get memo cubes for free. I just ask the guy running the cutter to save scrap paper. He cuts it to the size I want and uses the glue for padding forms on one side and wha-la! memo cubes. Xpedex is a paper company. That is why their memo cubes are cheap. They are making money off of scrap they would normally throw away. It might be worth a try to befriend your local printer or paper company to see about getting memo cubes made on the cheap. One year during the holidays. I stamped about 85 cubes as a charity fundraiser at our company. We sold them within the company for $3.00. I had several designs available. I purchased corsage bags from the local florist to bag them. They were cheaper than cello bags. They are great gifts for teachers, family, friends etc. I normally just hold the paper together to stamp but I have also used a c-clamp to hold them together. Sorry if I've rambled!!
