Default eyelet setters & prices

where do i find an eyelet setter with a handle? You know the ones that don't require hammering etc. Also, places and prices would be helpful. Thanks for your help

I bought and love the silent provo eyelet setter. I found it at the Archive scrapbook store for $20.00. I think this is one of the best tools I have ever purchased.

I got mine at Joann's. I think it was a bit more than others paid at Archiver's and some other places, though. If you can get a 40% coupon, I'd go for it. I'd send you one, but I don't have any for this week. :(

WWWHHHHAAAAA! Just check Joann.com and they are sold out! The Clik-it version - I assume this is the one to which you all are referring!?

Going to head to my local Joanns store tommorrow - never thought about the 40% coupon - DUH!

Default eyelet setter

I also bought a Silent Setter by ProvoCraft from Joanns using my 40% off coupon........I just love it.....you have to be careful about what eyelets you are using aluminum ones work best......now I can do my cards in the middle of the night without waking anyone.....

Has anyone tried the new Fiskers eyelet setters? I just noticed them on Joanns.com and on www.creativexpress.com. Would love some opinions.

The Silent setter by Provo is far superior to the Click-It ...I test-drove them both.

Bridget,

I have the Fiskars eyelet setters and like them. You just need to make sure you have a mat under them or they may dent your table if it is soft wood.

They have been easy to use. You usually have to lift the cutter side once or twice to make the hole and then the same on the setter side.

I just bought the Silent Setter from Provo Craft this week and LOVE it! So quiet and easy and it WILL set the non-aluminum eyelets -- you'll just need a little more "muscle" LOL!

My local craft store has them for $17.99 plus they always have 40% coupons so it was $10.79 + tax -- just too good to pass up!

You can also use the 1/16" punch to set the 1/8" eyelets. Just put your eyelet in the hole, then use the smaller punch over the eyelet like you were going to punch another hole. It takes some practice to get the right pressure, but it is definitely quiet.
I was wondering how the other setters worked. Hesitated on buying one without knowing much about them. So they work well, huh? Way cool!

You can use a 1/4" and 1/8" hand held punch for all SU eyelets, however it does not work on other brands.

1. Punch you hole with the 1/8" punch and place your eyelet.
2. Set the eyelet with the 1/4" punch.

I didnt like the silent setter- I LOVED the clickit.. SO much easier for me and had all the attachments for lacing etc.. Use the 40% coupon at Joanns for sure.. or go on the web and a coupon alwys pop up.. it is free shipping all month long if you are not in the free shipping club.

I have been trying to find the FISKARS eyelet setter and had no luck, even on their website - so I called them. They told me it is being redesigned and it won't be out until mid-April or May. I just ordered the ReadySet Tool from Scrapbook Express - can't wait to get it!!!

Talking Eyelet Setters

I had the Fiskars and loved it, except it broke in about 6 uses. It's noisy too. Fiskars did send another one in about 6 weeks. They said they were overwhelmed with complaints, why they are redesigning. In the meantime, I bought the Provo Silent Setter which I love even more and it's silent. The noisy one kept upsetting my dog. lol.
