Question How do you dry emboss only part of a sheet?

Hi ladies - I hope someone out there has the answer for me. I could have sworn there was a way to use your Cuttlebug or Big Shot/Sizzix machine with an embossing folder and only emboss PART of a sheet of paper, leaving a "strip" that isn't embossed - but the top and bottom is?

I know you could easily do with this with something like a polka dot embossing folder and just put part of the paper in - emboss - then switch it around and do the other end, leaving part of it plain.

BUT... isn't there a way to do this on an embossing folder with words (for example the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug folder that is filled with happy birthdays) and use cardboard to place it somehow so a portion of your paper (like an inch strip across the center) won't be embossed ????

Thanks for your wisdom!

Awesome Annie! Thank you SO much! I really appreciate your help and your card is LOVELY. I also found this video which was helpful: the cuttlebug spot: Double embossing with Cuttlebug and nestabilities
