Default Dry embossing/coloring

I've had a request to do dry embossing at my next party, and I always make a mess when I try coloring. Does anyone have a great tip for coloring after dry embossing. I've tried daubers with ink pads....not good, now I will try a q-tip with chalks and see if that is better. Thanks for your help, actually I like them with out any color but I know that will be a question I will have to answer!!

The pastels and q-tips may work well, but I've found that I like to use my markers and blender pens. I scribble a schmear of color on a plastic lid then pick up the color with my blender pen and color the embossed image. (When I actually color them--I usually like them plain as well...) This also uses 2 products to encourage people to use them!

Good luck!

I tape the brass template over the top of the image after I have embossed and then color through the image with whatever I want to use, whether it be pastels or sponging ink. You have to turn the template over before you attach it to the top of the image.
