Default Template to cover a papercup with decorative paper

I have a large plain paper coffee cup that I would like to cover with decorative paper.....how do I make a template so that it fits smaller at the bottom and larger at the top?

Default paper cup template ? maybe

I haven't done this lately but, I think you can just put the cup down on a large piece of butcher paper or something similar, hold a pencil on the big end and then roll the cup around in a circle then do the same thing but put the pencil on the small end of the cup. Did that make any sense? HTH

Default Cup Template

What about taking one of the cup apart and using it for a pattern! Wouldn't that work?

I was in a hurry for Thanksgiving Treats for my husband's church choir! I bought some cups with lids at Wal-Mart...colors were pumpkin, burgundy, brown, caramel...just perfect. I mad a band with a torn-apart cupholder from Starbucks...and attached a "Grateful for You" tag.

More than likely, that WAS my brain storm for 2008!
