I made one today using a 12 x 12 sheet so I could use it as a card caddy. It comfortably holds 6 cards with envelopes! I'm excited to have a new way to package my gift cards!
This one is very plain and simple, but I can see some real possibilities for embellishment!!

I also love these little boxes! They are so much fun to make. I have made 3 so far. If you want to see them I uploaded them in my gallery.

They look great made from printed papers - I made 8 of them, both sizes, in just a few minutes! Modified the smaller one slightly so the box was only about 1 inch wide rather than 2.

I made one today as well to hold a set of 12 small gift cards + envelopes for a friend's birthday. I made it 12" long though so that the cards could stand up comfortably inside. Same width as the tutorial. A wonderful little box - thanks so much Beate for your tutorial. It's going to be my favourite 'holder' for the sets of cards I usually make for all my friends' birthdays (they're a standing order year after year - makes gift-giving easy for me anyway!).
