Default EZ Mount stamps are made by many companies...

But I never see them at trade shows. Who makes them and who likes or dislikes using them?

Do you mean what copies put their unmounted stamps on EZ Mount before the sell them? I wish I knew. There are a few companies I know of who furnish the stamps to you already on foam, but not the EZ Mount foam. I just got an order of stamps from Hambo and they were on a foam backing, but not the EZ Mount.

My fingers are not obeying. That was supposed to be what COMPANIES, not what COPIES.

you can purchase the EZ mount foam and mount your own from viva las vegas...they also sell their images on EZ mount...as well as...stampendous, american art, cornish haritage farms, stamp in the hand, stampers anonymous...I know there are more...but that's just off the top of my head. If you like the company...email them to see if they do EZ mount or if they plan to.

Thank you for that great list! I have been doing my own EZ Mounting, but if I can get them already on the EZ Mount, I will opt for that. I get my EZ Mount through Sunday International. They have a good price, but I will check out Viva Las Vegas' prices too. Thanks again.

Love using unmounted stamps - easier to see where you are stamping. I've converted my most favorite wood stamps into unmounted. I've never bought from Cornish Heritage Farms, but from what I have researched on the net, they have the best price on ez mount foam ($3.49 for a 8x10 sheet). They also offer free shipping on orders over $35.

Other companies that offer unmounted stamps: Pink Cat Studio (rubber only), GinaK Designs (already mounted on ez mount), The Angel Company (each set comes with ez mount foam), Purple Onion (rubber only), Artful Inkables, Serendipity Stamps, Unity - just to name a few more!

I've also tried to use Aleene's Tack It Over and Over on one of the Pink Cat Studio stamp sets and it seems to work just as fine but you would probably need some cushion on the beneath the cardstock (mousepad) to get a good impression but don't need it all of the time. It is very sticky but when the stickiness wears off from use, you can dab on another layer and let dry overnight. This is a much more affordable solution than buying ez mount all of the time.

Lizzie Anne Designs stamps are sold already mounted on the thin EZ mount foam. They have a fun selection of designs, the stamps are excellent quality, customer service is great, and the stamps are super easy to use.

There are a number of companies that have their rubber stamps already on easy mount, and others who offer the option of either bare rubber or ez mount. A few I can think of right now:
Magenta
Papermakeup
The Greeting Farm
Local King Stamps
Gina K
Rubbernecker
Viva Las Vegas - not on ez mount, but you can buy on cushion without the wood block or are rubber

I think I will give your Aleene's idea a try. How much simpler that is. I love the EZ Mount but I do not love doing the mounting. My scissors gets so gooey and I actually got a blister on my thumb once when I had 3 sheets to mount.

When you're looking or searching, you might find you get more hits if you use the terms "cling mount" or "cling foam" or "cling cushion". EZ-Mount is a specific brand and not everyone will say their stamps are on EZ-mount when they offer a cling option, simply because they're not using that brand. Cornish Heritage Farms for example, wouldn't come up on a search for EZ-mount stamps because they use something called Smart Cushion which is exactly the same kind of product but not the same brand.

I love cling cushion, so much easier on storage than wood mount and no messing about with a cushy surface under your paper like you often have to do with plain rubber!

I would like to know if they use EZ Mount or something like it because I do not like the rigid-type cling backings. They do not stick anywhere near as firmly as the flexible EZ Mount. If the stamp is anything but perfectly flat when it is put on one of the rigid cling backings, it will not stick at all.

If you are mounting on ez mount yourself you really need to get a heat knife! I got one, and love it! you still have to cut out the rubber, but then you stick it on the sheet of ezmount, but it on a glass mat and use the heat knife to cut around it. It cuts through the ezmount like butter, and no gooey mess on your scissors.

I haven't come across rigid cling backings. The cling foams I've used (EZ-Mount, KlingOn and the CHF Smart Cushion) have all been flexible and clung to acrylic blocks, no problem. Of the three, the one I like least is KlingOn as it's just a bit squidgier in texture than the other two and seems just a little too soft. Do the rigid ones use the word "foam" in their description or would that be a clue for you as to what you're looking at?

Joan, I love the idea of a heat knife. Where did you get yours and is there a particular brand that you like? What other uses have you found for it?

I don't own one...but I know you can get one at M's. I know many folks have tried and like it especially if you are trying to unmount rubber that is already cut.

Yes, I do know about getting sore fingers after cutting. ;) But to be honest, I've been neglecting my stamps since I discovered digi-stamping...much easier to use and they are resizable! No sore fingers - LOL!

I don't remember a company name. I have been using the EZ Mount for such a long time, it is possible that the rigid type isn't sold anymore. It had a very thin foam with a white paper back on that and a clear plastic sheet attached to the white paper (on very small stamps, sometimes the clear plastic would come loose from the white paper. I didn't know anyone but EZ Mount was making the flexible. That is good to know. It would be nice to think that rigid stuff is a thing of the past.

I LOVE unmounted stamps!!!!!!!!!!! They are so much easier to work with, you can see your placement better. Save a lot on storage space, I use CD cases for most or for big sets I cut plastic sheets to fit one of the SU boxes, can get 4 layers in a box. I love mounting the rubber on the foam cling almost as much as working with the stamps, but only with a heated knife! I don't even use a glass mat to cut on, I just hold them in my hand. I can control the angle of the knife better that way so you don't under cut the foam. I also dust the exposed sticky stuff, before I cut, with cornstarch (or you could use baby powder). This makes handling a little easier while you work with it. I also use both thicknesses of foam cling sheets, the thinner is better for small things like words, fine lines etc and some of the rubber stamps I got from IMC, their rubber is twice as thick. With those you could use the Tack It Over & Over instead of foam but I tried that & didn't have luck, all the adhesive ended up on my acrylic block. What a mess!! I've unmounted about half of my 400 + stamp sets so far.

Lisa, you have a LOT of stamps! Can I come to your house and play?
What brand heat knife did you buy? It sounds like you are very happy with it. Was it mail order or from a store? Are there any other uses you put it to in crafting? It sounds like a tool every rubber stamper should have.

So sorry - I didn't see your question earlier! Mine was actually a gift, but it is like this one at sunday international:
http://sundayint.com/index.asp?PageA...S&Category=236

I believe you can get them at michaels as well, so you could use a coupon.

I totally know exactly the kind of cling you are talking about. That stuff does not hold at all.

Gina K. Designs uses EZ mount. (We call it cling cushion but we actually use the EZ mount brand.)

I completely agree!! I got my hot knife from Joann's online for about $14.

Also, CHF just started offering an option, for a small charge, of having your stamps cut for you! I used to love cutting out my SU stamps but now I'd rather spend the time stamping .

Thanks for the heads up. I will check out Gina K.

I have most of my unmounteds off that rigid cling and onto ez mount. I did have some trouble with hunks of that foam sticking to the rubber. I have got to get it off or it will be bumpy. Any idea what kind of solvent I can use that will get the sticky to let go without damaging the rubber?

It's almost impossible to hurt rubber. I have used desolve it and goo gone. Then, I Just washed them in warm soapy water. They were ready for EZ mount. Hope that helps.
