Default Cricut Question??

:cool:Has anyone ever cut out anything on their cricut expression using fabric? I would love to try this but want to get feedback first. Anything will help?

YES! I had been trying this for a while and finally got it to work a few weeks ago. It's SO great!!

You will need:
-fairly new cutting mat
-new blade (regular is fine)
-Heat n Bond Lite (wonder under and steam a seam did not work)
-spray starch
-iron

First, you will need to decide what size your die cut shape needs to be and add about an inch around each side. So if you wanted a cut a 3" heart, you should cut a 5"x5" piece of fabric. Then cut a 4.5" x 4.5" square from the heat n bond.

Press your fabric and apply spray starch to the right side of the fabric. Press until there is no moisture left.

Apply heat n bond to the wrong side of the fabric. When cool, remove the paper backing.

Place the heat n bond side down against the mat and press firmly to make sure it has adhered well.

Load cutting mat into your cricut. Set blade depth to 6, pressure to high and speed medium. If you have the multi-cut feature, set it to 2.

Intricate designs will not cut well if they are small. I was able to cut out lots of different shapes and letters. It totally changes how I do my appliques now.
