I asked the same question a couple of days ago and haven't gotten a response. I thought the card was beautiful also.
If you find out, please let me know. Thanks [email protected]
The technique is from the Technique Junkie Newsletter published by patstamps. I suspect you aren't getting an answer, because people pay for the newsletter, so the information isn't sharable.
Oh, but she posts such a pretty card and doesn't share how she did it??? :( So, so sad! Maybe she is really busy right now and will later. My guess is metallic pencils over the markers, what do ya think?

Thanks for the link, but I don't think that is the same technique. The card I like didn't use a white craft pad. It just doesn't look the same. I didn't realize that this technique was in a special newsletter - you'd think that someone still wouldn't mind sharing the technique - someday, pretty please!!!
This is something I did really fast to test how I think its done. I colored it in with really light marker then went back over and shaded with my watercolor pencils. Actually can't see as much of the shading in the scan, but I'm sure it could be done lighter and shaded much darker like the tree card.

OK girls, here it is (TJ).....(1) Stamp your image on white CS (with Permanent ink - Basic Black/Basic Brown); (2) Color the image with markers (light shade/brush tip) and allow to completely dry; (3) Color in image, using colored pencils that are a little darker than the "original" marker, adding shading; (4) Then use colored pencils that are lighter to add final highlights. You can mat and/or embellish as you like. (I personally think this would be beautiful using SU!'s watercolor pencils with blender pens!!) WOW!! Good luck and have fun playing!

Glad you all liked my card - sorry I didn't notice this tread until today 3/21. The reason I didn't post the directions, rather I refered everyone to the website www.patstamps.com (Technique Junkies Newsletter). The TJNL is a paid subscription with wonderful techniques. With that being said - the previous poster - Illini Stamper has posted the directions for you - I did infact color with markers and then went back in with SU's watercolor pencils and added my highlights.
