Can someone please tell me how to cut diamonds? I would like to make a Texas 8 point star for the center of a square card Thanks in advance!

Cut into diamond shapes by first cutting straight parallel lines 1/2 , 3/4, or 1 (etc.) inch apart down the length of the paper, then cut diagonal lines 1/2, 3/4, or 1 (etc.) 1 inch apart across the straight cuts. This is how you would cut brownies.

You'd still need to use a 45o or 60o angle for different widths (if you need precision) http://softexpressions.com/software/...Quilt2.php#col or just experiment with different widths on your own: 1/2" on one side and 3/4" on the other side, 1/2" and 1", etc.

I wanted this info myself and at least this way we can cut several different sizes instead of relying on one size from a punch.

How kind of you, thank you for your reply, will give it a try..hey that rhymes! Those templates on the Link you kindly provided do you just cut round them? I think its the narrow one.

Here is the tutorial link from their website: http://www.ezquilt.com/tutorials/dia...mondshapes.htm

If you do decide to make your own, be sure to mark on a sample piece which measurements you used for each size. You could even use each one as a stencil, if you outlined it onto cardstock or plastic sheeting.

I have added it to my favorites folder so that I don't lose this information thank you for posting, who would have thought that diamons would prove so difficult!
