I have been having a lot of fun making pocket cards - I have lots of friends who are librarians and they love the "library pocket" look - so nostalgic for them now since checkouts are all computerized now - anyhow this is how I make them -
Cut 8 1/2 X 11 cardstock in half lengthwise = 4 1/4 by 11
Fold in half so now it is 4 1/4 by 5
Then I fold down 1 1/2 inches on one side to make the flap
I like to round all the corners off with the corner rounding punch
You can seal the pocket by stapling under the flap or there are lots of cool closures using eyelets and ribbon too.
For the card inside I have been using a single piece of cardstock 3 X 5 - I put either an eyelet with ribbon through it or I staple a ribbon tab to the top to pull out the card.
These are really cute and I love how they make such a different looking card. If I could figure out how to use my scanner and then upload some of my cards I would but I pretty slow where computer technology is concerned - my son is home from college this week so maybe I can get him to show me.
Hope this helps.
