I make these all the time for gifts and such.
I stamp the regular classic ink on cardstock and laminate the cardstock. That way you can wipe it off easily without ruining the stamped images.
Hope thats what you mean
I just made one for an "End of Year Teacher Gift". I bought a large glossy tile (~4x6?). I used the Crayon Kids set, Staz-On, Sharpies, Crystal Effects. I stamped the kids on the bottom (one on each side) and then a crayon on the bottom in the middle and then a crayon diagonally across each top corner. I used black Staz-on to stamp the images, then I colored them in with Sharpies. I then baked it at 350 for 20min. After it cooled, I covered each image with Crystal Effects. This worked really well. I had heard about spraying a sealant on the tiles, but I was afraid this would take away the "wipe-off" property of it.
Actually having written on my coasters before, the write on/wipe off properties wouldn't be ruined if you used gloss sealer. You don't have to how you did it, but it wouldn't hurt if you did.
Question ~ wouldn't a tile be awfully heavy to hang as a dry erase board? And how did you "rig" it to hang?
I bought some tiles last night to make into dry erase boards, the size I bought were 8 1/2 x 11 and when I got them home they are slightly smaller and fit perfectly into an 8 1/2 x 11 picture frame....this way they can be hung easily!
If anybody has a picture to share, I'd love to see and will then "ooh ahh" over it too!
Can you stamp on an actual dry erase board from the office supply or discount store? If anybody has tried that, lets hear about it. What a great idea for a teacher gift!
I bought a small tabletop easel from Michael's to set it on. So, it just sits on her desk and she can write on it that way or hold it, write on it, and put it back. Thanks for the info on the glossy sealer. I'll have to try that.
Can you believe I didn't take a picture of it!! Aarrrgghh! I've kicked myself many times for that one!
I saw a neat idea at convention using a cheap picture frame. The frame was one of those clear plastic ones that are shaped kind of like an "L" and you just slide a picture in. However, instead of a picture it was stamped cardstock. Then a dry erase marker was attached to the front (at the right edge) with velcro. You can write on the clear plastic with the marker and it wipes right off!
Could any one tell me how to make a dry eraser board.
Do u just use Staz-on ink? Can you seal it with something and still bealbe to dry erase?
Thanks.

I plan on stamping on card stock with Balmy Breezes to match tile coasters and tile refrigerator magnets I'm making for my mother for Christmas. Will have the "board" heat laminated at Staples and stick magnetic tape to the back so she can use it on her refrigerator. Found Dry Erase Markers to go with it at Wal-Mart today. Six different colors in one package for under $3. They already have magnets on them; erasers too.
I used printable craft magnet sheets, and ran my printed pieces through the xyron with the one-sided laminating cartridge. Voila -- instant dry-erase board for the fridge that resists spaghetti sauce.
