Use a piercing guide (I think that's what it's called - it's that plastic hole template thing that comes in SU's mat pack and tool kit) and with the piercing tool, poke holes in a straight line, zig zag, etc. Then use a gel pen or the thin side of a marker to connect the dots!

The SU piercing guide is truly a lifesaver when it comes to this technique. Like Jessica said, it can be purchased in the Mat Pack for $9.95 or it's also part of the SU Tool Kit.
