Making Sky w/Clouds

I have a customer who wants to make a birthday card with clouds in the background. I think that it can be done using a mask and sponging, but I'm not entirely sure. Can someone help? Thanks!

I cut a cloud out of a transparency using my old sizzix cloud dies, then you sponge around it, move it around and voila!
Try on scrap paper first. It would work with regular paper too.

Take a look at this video by Gian K http://stamptv.ning.com/video/quick-and-easy-clouds-1 I haven't tried it yet, but it looks easy enough to do and If you want to stamp an image and then put clouds around it I would just stamp the image first then mask it and do the clouds. Hope that makes some kind of sense? Good luck.

On THIS CARD, I sponged a sky using a scalloped circle punch. I moved the scalloped circle around to create "cloud" shapes. Got the idea from another SCS member, but I don't remember who it was.

subbing for reference. I always have trouble! I know Gina K has a good tutorial for creating sky with punched scallops on her stamp tv.

I did a tutorial on my blog today on using sponges to make a shy, mountains and some water. If you would like to check it our it might help you friend. I also found a site where you can buy a cloud template for $3.50 and it is a nice template. My blog address is

Not that it was me necessarily (!!), but I have instructions on my blog as well...
