Default ? about Black & White Picture Technique....

I was wondering if anybody could remember about the technique that we learned at the Memphis Regionals where you used the pastels on Black & White Pictures. You are supposed to spray something on the pictures first and then you can use the pastels to tint different things on the pictures. Then you use that same spray again to seal it, I think. Was it some kind of Poly Matte Spray? I didn't get good notes on this because I was trying to take pictures, too.

Thanks for your help!

yep, you got it - print picture in greyscale, spray with Matte Finish Spray (I know Krylon sells this, as I'm sure there are other brands too), color areas you want to hightlight with pastels, then seal again so pastels don't rub off

Lisa - Thanks for the info! I wasn't sure that I had caught all of the details. I've already got a Krylon Matte spray, so I will have to try this out.
