Magic card instructions

1. Stamp acetate with stamp and stazon ink. Put aside to dry.

2. Fold into quarters 1 - 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock.

3. Cut 1/2 " off right side facing you, keeping the 1/2" scrap.

4. Cut left top quarter out - put aside for future use.

5. Make a 1/4" fold on bottom left.

6. Fold top right down over the bottom right.

7. On fold cut 3 3/4" slot in center about 3/16".

8. Take cardstock that you put aside and stamp image with classic black
ink (your image on the acetate should line up with the new image).
Color new image.

9. Stamp bottom left with image which lines up with the image behind or
cut circle/square out that frames the image that is behind.

10. Place acetate over cardstock lining up images, cut both to fit through
the slot on the right hand side of card.

11. Tape acetate and cardstock on the top keeping them in line. Open
and tape on reverse side for re-enforcement.

12. Make a pull tab from 1/2" strip previously cut off and tape to top of
acetate.

13. Insert taped cardstock through slot making sure acetate goes over
the slot.

14. Fold bottom left quarter over and seal the 3/16" fold to the back of
the bottom right quarter.

I just did this card at a workshop. It was the first time I had made it, and I think it's a good idea to make it with another person. Two heads are better than one!!! A very cute card, can be a little confusing. The more you make it, the easier it gets.

Have fun,
Debbie

Still confused...

Maybe I'm just slow but I still don't get it and I'm done ruining perfectly good card stock... Could you possibly send pics of the steps? Thanks so much!

My question is how do you get the acetate image and the cardstock image lined up just right? I've got the template for the card but cannot seem to figure out a good way to have the 2 images match.

Hi!
I've not done these yet...I just love to use the Search function & try 'n' help out! =)

There are several topic threads with links to magic card directions. I'm not sure if you know how to do a search, so first here's a visual aid! :) You'll find the Search function towards the top of this page.

And so one of the threads which came up by entering "magic card" had this link to the Carol Duvall show demo of this card. It has step by step photos! Woot!

I hope this helps! =)
