Default Ends of Petals to Curl up--how..?

It may be a no no to post links here, but I have been seeing some flowers like these--

6 Tiny Paper Flowers 1 Pearl Centers by Ribbonsetc on Etsy

and wondered how they get the tips of the petals to curl up...?
I am thinking it could possibly be done by wrapping the petals around a pencil and rolling slightly, but maybe there is another method...?

Thanks!

Here is a link to a great tutorial for making your own paper flowers:

Valita's Designs & Fresh Folds: Make your own Prima flowers

She makes the petals on her flowers curl downward, but you could make them curl up with the same method.

One easy way to make the petals of the flowers flip upwards is to take a bone folder and pull it up the petals two or three times and this will do the trick and to get them to go down just do the oppisite, this is what I do.

I get the cardstock damp and roll it the direction I want it to go using a wood skewer. I have found this to work really well.

I have made flowers similar to these by pressing the centers down into a mousepad or piece of fun foam. Anything with any give to it should work.

Jerri K of touchofgraceboutique has wonderful tutorials on how to make exquisite mums and such on her site. She is a former Dirty Dozen gal and does absolutely stunning work. Most of her cards are very elaborate with tons of flowers edged in gold or curled, whatever. jerrik.blog.splitcoaststampers.com is the link. Enjoy...you will never look at cards the same again!

Smile How to curl the flower tips

I just made a card last night where i had to curl the tips of the flower. I used the bone tool and I used my fingers to weaken the fibers in the paper and just kinda bent it with my fingers once the paper fibers were very weak. If you see the "fun flowers" card I think that is on my profile you can see what it looked like when I curled them. I hope this helped! ;)
