Heat Embossing on vellum???

I've seen so many beautifully designed cards for many occassions where there is heat embossing on vellum. So I tried this the other night with horrible results :( Can I please get some suggestions from all of you talented ladies, what am I doing wrong? Special vellum?versamark? embossing ink? :confused: Ugh!

Heat embossing on vellum is one of my favorite techniques, I'm doing it all the time
I like Versamark ink with Ranger Seafoam white embossing powder, just love the look of it.
Try to keep the heating time as short as possible. Move on to the next spot as soon as the embossing powder melts.

I always use cardstock vellum when i want to heat emboss, haven't tried it on regular vellum.

I heat from above and then below, and keep switching so the cardstock doesn't burn or anything. It seems to work best for me.
