Just thought I'd share a new (to me anyway!) technique that I came across watching DIY's Jewelry Making a while back. Actually I customized it to use for cardmaking/scrapbooking. In the episode, they used a UTEE Melting Pot and cardboard to create faux dichroic glass beads for a bracelet. The basic idea is to create the same look with less bulk by using cardstock instead of cardboard, and Heat & Stick Powder and Glassy Glaze instead of a UTEE Melting Pot. You'll also need some plastic-backed foil, either Jones Tones or Nail Art Foil will work. I used Nail Art Foil that I found on Ebay for about $2-$3 for a 5' roll that's about 1" wide. (Hint: With this stuff you'd need to cut up strips to cover a larger stamped image, but it still works) Anyway, here are the instructions:
1. Stamp a bold image in Versamark and emboss with Heat & Stick powder.
2. Quickly, while the Heat & Stick glue is still warm, apply the foil, pretty side up to the image and apply pressure to ensure it sticks.
3. Let it cool a few seconds and then pull back the foil to reveal your image now covered with the pretty foil! (Hint: If some areas that were not supposed to pick up the foil did, you can carefully scrape it off with a needle or a paper piercing tool. Also, if some areas did not pick up the foil that were supposed to, you can use the Versamarker to color in these spots and then emboss again with Heat & Stick powder and apply the foil over the spots that need it.)
4. Cut out the image, or use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the stamp again to apply Versamark over the top of the image.
5. If you cut out the image, cover it in Versamark.
6. Emboss with Glassy Glaze to seal the foil and create a glass look.
7. Your done! Just apply your faux dichroic glass images to your project!

The scanner just doesn't pick up how cool this looks! Have fun trying it!
