Saran Wrap

Hi all -
I was at a demo meeting yesterday and a lady there did a cool technique where she used saran wrap to apply a kind of cracked look to glossy cardstock with a kalidecolor.

Does this technique have a name?

Hmm... was it where you ink up your plastic wrap and press onto cardstock randomly?!?

I don't recall that I ever had a name for that. I've just known it as the plastic wrap technique.

If she was using Chalk pads instead of the kalidecolor (Spectrum pad) she would have been doing "Crinkled Chalk" and the instructions are posted here:

you can use bubble wrap and foil, too!

You can apply luminere randomly to glossy paper with saran wrap. After it dries, then roll ink over it using the brayer. This will give you a very nice resist type look.

Yes, we just inked up the saran wrap and pressed to the glossy cardstock. Oh well, I will have to think of a very clever name for tonight's show. LOL

I learned this technique using a plastic shopping bag and was just wondering why people use the saran wrap. Is there a difference in texture? I mean why use what you have to pay for!
