to make a shimmer on an image? Last year at a stamp camp we made cards that shimmered, and I remember we painted on a mixture of lumiere and something??? I have left a message with the demo, but haven't heard anything from her.
Anyone done anything like this?
TIA for any help. I really need to get started on my Easter cards!
Can't you mix lumiere with classic ink refills for a shimmery colored look????

I' ve been wanting to use the lumiere with pearl ex mixture. Do you put it on the image with a paint brush?
...with a paint brush, stipple brush, sponge, brayer, saran wrap crinkled up and when it dries brayer ink over it... so much you can do with the lumiere!
There are several absolutely breath taking colors of lumiere paints that have metallic shimmer and shine. Stampin' Up just sells one if I remember correctly. I have tried lumiere with Pearl-Ex and it's stunning! Create your own 'expensive' background pages with it by painting plain white inexpensive card stock with the different colors. It only takes a couple of minutes and costs so much less than the pearl papers you buy in the stores. Plus you can say, I made that! You can also then stamp on them using staz-on inks.
BUMP..
I want ideas too.. I've just bought Lumiere at Michaels.. over in artist oil paints, etc section. I can't believe I found it.. I've always scanned the acrylic paint section for it. AND.. ya'll know how exceedingly helpful Mikes employees are! ;) That was nasty, there are some 'crafters' that work at Mikes and fall over backward to help find stuff!

Isn't Luminere comparable to Twinkling H2o's? I don't want to buy more stuff UNLESS I HAVE TO; hahaha.
Twinkling H20's are watercolors.
Lumiere is a light bodied acrylic paint, (mine are in 1/2 oz. bottles). Apply on fabric, paper, polymer clay, leather, and wood with brush, airbrush, stamp or sponge.
Lumiere is NOT like the little $1-$2 acrylic paints in 2oz bottles- Folk Art, Americana, etc.
Twinkling H20's and Lumiere are totally different mediums... and, YES, you DO have to buy this!! LOL

Ok, I think I'm getting the jist of what lumiere is......it is a shimmery paint right? And dazzling diamonds is almost like a glitter?? I've never used either, but they look so pretty!!! Thanks!
can you mix lumier with water to make it liquid? If you mix lumier with water to make it liquid, can you also mix in pearl ex? Would it have enough "stick" after mixing with water to hold the PE and "seal" it for use in scrapbooking?
