Inside your cards
 

We all spend so much time making the outside of our cards look nice, I wondered what many of you did for the inside of your cards.

Do you leave them blank and hand write a personal message later?
Do you print a message on your card?
Do you print directly on the cardstock or do you insert vellum or another piece of cardstock for your verse?
Do you use stamps for your sentiment?

I usualy stamp a saying unless its a note card. I always try to stamp an immage that corresponds with the design on the front on the inside also.

I always put a piece of text weight linen paper on the inside of my cards. The only exception would be if I am using white cardstock or duplex cardstock. Lining the cards just adds such a nice touch. Since I sell my cards I often stamp them with sentiments. Though i do find that cards without a sentiment sell as well.

It depends on the card. I often stamp a sentiment. I send a card, almost weekly, to my elderly parents who live 1000 miles away. I often put a sticky note, note inside the card instead of personalizing it so they can pass it on. Saves them a trip to the store when they need a card. Also, talk about recycling!

Thanks Judi for that link, it's great to see a few examples, and thank you everyone for your suggestions. They helped out a lot. I'll try and post some of my own projects as I try out some of these new ideas :D

I leave lots of mine blank since I don't always know what event the card is for! Then I stamp a sentiment inside.

I have seen people put a strip of DP inside that matches the outside, or stamp the main image or a related one in a smaller size or as a faint line image. If the cardstock is really dark I sometimes line it with white paper or use a gel pen to do my writing.

I usually print my messages on white card stock. The white card stock is a little lighter so I don't have problems running it through my printer. Theirs lots of websites with good verses. I cut the paper 1/4 inch shorter than the inside and punch emboss corner. My family like the special personal touch it has. Hope this helps you.

Again another fabulous idea. How thoughtful and smart you are too! Many times I see a verse and think, I wish I had a stamp of that....no more! Just print it.

Something I have been doing for quite some time (my sisters call it my signature) is I use a punch (the name escapes me at the moment) and punch 2 corners. I then put TWO paper inserts in them. I tell people that when they are done enjoying the card, they can take out the sentiment, add their own and re-send it away. People hate to throw out these cards, and not only that but I have my info on the back, which means even more business!!

I try to make the inside coordinate with the outside. I will mat a piece of CS or DP that I used on the front. Then I will type a message on the computer in a matching color and print that on white, ivory or vellum and print it out. I sometimes punch a shape in a corner or add a stamped image that matches the front and then cut it down and attach it to the mat piece referred to above. Sometimes I just add blank cardstock on the inside and write something. Or I combine a handwritten note with a stamped sentiment. It just depends on the card's purpose. I almost always add cardstock to the inside so that the weight is uniform on both halves of the card. Anything goes.

I always use a linen type paper etc. on the inside of my cards. Here is my most recent card:

If you do an online search, such Google for peoms, etc. you can find tons of them!

I like to use liner papers, sometimes white, sometimes colour to coordinate with the card. If I've used a stamped element on the front I often use a Watermark version of the stamp or an element of the stamp to coordinate

just wanted to say, i absolutely LOVE the ribbon weaving on the front of this card! how beautiful! did you do this? i would love to know how, i think i could figure it out...

And the linen paper was in a paper pack that I bought in the home office section at Walmart called "Fine Paper Textures of Ivory" by AMPAD. There are 100 sheets (Acid & Lignin Free) of 4 assorted textures (Granite, Linen, Opaque and Parchment). I don't really care for the other textures. I'm going to check at Staples the next time I go to town and see if they have a package of linen papers!
