Default wax paper resist

Could someone please explain wax paper resist to me. I made a piece using glossy CS and a spectrum pad but can't get a stamped image to show up very well.

I crinkle up the wax paper. Unfold and place on your glossy c/s. Place a piece of typing paper on top and iron without steam. Not too long. Then brayer with your Spectrum pad. Try this and let me know how it works for you!

I reread what you asked and I don't think I answered it above. After you brayer let it dry (won't take long) and use a kleenex or something similar and wipe off any wax residue from your c/s. I would probably use a bold stamp if I were going to stamp directly onto the glossy cardstock. HTH!

Does anyone have any pictures they can refer me to so I can see some samples of the wax paper resist? Thanks so much!

I did a search of the gallery for "wax paper resist" and found three papes of samples. Here are a few:

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers I LOVE Wonderful Wings, check this one out!

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers If you like Pink Passion and In Full Bloom.

I suggest doing the search and seeing all the samples!

I'm not sure if this will work, put I cut and pasted the search I did:

Wow! Thanks for the help on finding the samples. I must not have done my search correctly when I tried it before, cuz I didn't get the same samples you did. The samples are really beautiful and give me lots of ideas!

Now, my next question, how do you get the classic pad ink colors to adhere to the glossy card stock? I tried using the glossy and the ink just smears off. But I noticed lots of the cards used the US white and classic, not craft colors. Any thoughts on that?
THANKS!

Ann,

After I brayer on the color I give the glossy c/s a minute or two to soak in then I use a kleenex to wipe off the excess ink that was resisted by the wax. I have never used U/S white so I can't answer that part of your question. I would never use craft ink because it is a pigment ink and would take a long time to dry. It might work, but I wouldn't try it when the classic ink works great!

HTH!

Apply classic ink generously to the brayer and dont worry about rolling your cs multiple times. The color gets darker with each roll.

Thank you! I will give it a try that way. Perhaps I didn't wait long enough for the ink to dry.

What a difference that made - using glossy and waiting a few minutes before wiping it off!!! It is incredible!--THANKS!
