How to Lace
How do you cut the cardstock to make the lace look?
|
I'm not quite sure what you are talking about. Could you explain just a little more, please. I think that would more responses to your post.

Sorry new to this. I saw a card in the gallery called "Lace' happy anniversary" . I don't know how to link to the pic. I says lace papercutting.

I found the card - here's a link:
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...ary&perpage=12 Lace' papercutting is done with special brass stencils and a craft knife. You cut along the cut lines and then fold the pieces back on themselves; works best with double-sided paper. Here's a link to a site where you can buy the templates - scroll down a little and you'll see basic instructions of how this works. http://www.lainesworld.co.uk/craft/lace/ I've seen the templates in several local stamping/scrapbooking stores as well. You can try this without the template by just printing out a picture of one of them and using it as a pattern (I did this once when I was trying to figure out exactly how these work), but if you want the nice crisp, uniform lines you're seeing on the card, you'd want the templates. |
Thank you so much

The card you saw on SCS was mine. I'm sorry I should have been a little more informative. They are very easy to do with the templates. I purchase my templates from POP-UP'S by Plane Class. They are out of Iowa. the website for them is www.popuptemplates.com. That is also where I purchase the vinyl stickers from. If you go to there site they have everything you will need for these cards. They are just super on shipping quickly. I have met the man personally that sells them at the Syracuse Stamping Expo. He is a great guy. I feel he has the best prices and quality and selection on the stickers I have found anywwhere. You canorderthem right on line . I went to the site that Cheryl found and I noticed it is from the United Kingdom. I think it is much easier ordering in the US.There are so many interesting templates and you can order idea books as well. The address for this is: POP-UP'S by Plane Class,230 Brougham Rd, Robins, IA 52328- Phone and fax is 888-750-5276. If you need any help don't be afraid to contact me. My e-mail is [email protected] or you can PM me on SCS. Hope this helps you some.

Hi Jackie! Thanks for the great info on where to find the templates. I just googled and linked to the first site that had pictures of how they worked; never even checked where it was from.
Your card is just beautiful - I've been intrigued by these for some time now, but there always seems to be something at the shop that I think I need more! |
Hi Cheryl, You aremost welcome and I hope it will be of some help to you. I know if you try it once you will like it. There are so many different template designs. I was the same as you I always looked at them and thought I can't do them or there were other things I wanted more. Once I tried them I really love making them and they aren't really difficult. I always get lost of oohs and aahs when I give one to someone. Good Luck!!

Another name for something similar is diamond folding. I bought templates from Hot Off The press. They make beautiful designs for scrapping or card making. Nancy
