Default Stamping on Glass

Hi,

Does anyone have a 'tip' for stamping on glass? I stamped with StazOn black ink onto a clear glass plate and it came out BEAUTIFUL! But now I want to add some color. I'm thinking of using Folk Art Enamels for Glass & Ceramics and/or perhaps decoupaging fabric or napkins on the back.

Is there anything else I can do for adding color? I can't find a place on this website with a post about stamping on glass!

Thanks!
Nancy

I have had some luck using some paint I got at an art store -- pebeo -- that is the manufacturer. You paint with it, wai for 24 hours, then bake your glass in the oven for 40 minutes. After that you can even put your plate in the dishwasher -- although I'm not sure what the dishwasher would do to the Stazon.

I have seen some items in the gallery where pople have used the SU reinkers with crystal effects - it looks absolutely great but I don't know if it's washable or not.

Thank you Cathy! Does this paint come out opaque? The Enamel I have sounds like the same thing basically. It's by Plaid. I do know that it was rather translucent and I was looking for a more opaque look for parts of the plate.

And wouldn't you know that I just submitted an order and didn't end up ordering the crystal effects even though I wanted to!

The kind I have is translucent but the colors are great. I think some are opaque

Good luck with your project. Be sure to post it so I can see how it turns out !

I use Deco paint pens. You can fine them in the artist section of the craft store. They come in fine and medium points, in a rainbow of colors! They are very easy to use. My kids and I use them to color on glass pebbles too.

I've only handwashed. Never thought to put my vase in the dishwasher. Sorry, I don't know the answer.
