Default Stamping on Coffee Mugs...?

Do you have to use Stazon? And, do you have to set it? How about embossing on a mug? Altho, I need this to be kid friendly for an adult child class, so would rather not use a heat gun.
I am planning a holiday project for the Snowman Soup recipe and thought it would be neat to stamp & decorate a mug for it.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Embossing would just chip off the first time you tried to wash the mug, so I'd avoid that technique. Since the surface of a ceramic mug is glazed and therefore nonporous, the only kind of ink that will not wipe right off is StazOn. Stamping on a curved surface is extremely tricky, though, and children will probably not be able to do it successfully -- some of your adults will probably have a hard time, too! If you really want to decorate mugs perhaps you should check out your local dollar stores for the ones that have paper inserts for you to decorate.

I just stamped on a mug this weekend for a paint can and it is tricky and time consuming. I'm with Rachel and would not reccomend it with children. You have to use smaller size stamps and heat set it.

Default Stamping on Coffee Mugs

Okay, this is my first attempt at posting, so I hope I don't mess this up!!!

I tried this recently and had a really difficult time staming on the curved surface. There are mugs at both Michaels and Hobby Lobby that have the removable inserts, I think they are around 99 cents and are in the kids craft section. I think they ran a sale on them not long ago for 77 cents each, so if you have some time you may wait to see if they go on sale again.

Hope that helps!
