Default Sealing tile coasters

I would like to stamp some tile coasters, but have heard others say that the ink runs when hot liquid touches it. I know to use Staz-On, but is there a special sealing technique to use so that hot coffee mugs can be placed on them, especially if they spill?

I just made some today! I stamped in craft ink, heat set (350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes) and also spray sealed it (not totally necessary, I just did it for extra precaution). HTH!!

I was given 2 sets - both are on unglazed tiles. The one with stzon has never run. The other set is heavily glazed wtih embossing powder and is very beautiful but the water from a glass can't absorb into the coaster. If you want it to be useful I wouldn't coat it with anything that can stop the absorption of water.

I used just regular inks to stamp the tiles then I sealed with a clear acrylic matte spray. It still has the look of the natural stone and didn't make any color run or bleed. I then lined the bottom with a thin piece of cork to help cushion the bottom.

This is exactly what I do but I use felt instead of cork for the bottom. I've never had a problem with running.
