Default How to do Christmas photo card

I have a customer in one of my stamp clubs who wants me to come up with a Christmas card design where she can have a photo of her family either on the front cover or the inside. She wants there to be a simple stamp design on it that she can duplicate in bulk, and would like it to have a religious theme. She wants the photo to be framed on the card somehow. I'm kind of stumped. Has anyone made their own Christmas photo cards and would you be willing to share your ideas?

Okay bear with me. She can get the paper frames in the catty. They can wheel the frames with a star wheel (in a light color) and then using the angel from Angelic and popping the angel up in the corner and her family pic behind it.

If she doesn't want to buy the frames, then wheeling around the edge should do. Also-she could just wheel in Versamark and emboss in gold/silver (whatever) and use the saying from Start of Wonder (p 43) on the inside. So the front is just stars wheeled around pic, and the inside has the saying. The new wide start wheel in the mini catalog is gorgeous, but there are many star wheels in the catty.

Default christmas card

I have my card from last year posted - it's under the Little Layers II. I don't know how to do a link to it - sorry. Anyway...I just took a picture of my girls and had our HEB (grocery store) make wallet size pictures and that's what I used. It was REAL simple and I think it turned out cute.

Default Christmas Card

I also have my card from 2002 - I'm in the process of loading it into the gallery but am still pretty new to this. It would be under Holiday Wishes. I'll try to put it here:

I used the sample in the 03-04 catalog for Sleigh Ride and simply put a picture where the stamped image should be. The picture is an odd size, so we printed them ourselves. If you plan right, you could have them printed and just crop. I'll try to upload this to the gallery too (it will be my first one -- eeks )

Oh my goodness -- I have been trying to decide what I was going to do this year too. I definately want to use a pic of my DD's but also wanted to stamp on the card as well. Thanks for the great ideas girls -- keep them coming though I'm really interested in some more ideas.

Thank you for your great ideas ladies! This gives me a lot better idea of how to go about this. I'd love to hear more.

Default photo card

I stamped mine like normal, and attached a wallet size photo to the inside of the card with clear photo corners so they could take the photo out. Hopefully everyone was smart enough to take the picture out if they didn't keep the card (oh the horror!!!). I did the wallets at walmart on the kodak machine and added a cute border and the year. I'm at work, but can possibly scan it this weekend.

YEAH BABY!!! CAMSMOM .. I love your swimmer picture!!

I made Christmas cards last year for the first time. I used the Sketch It set to make a wreath using the wreath like stamp, the squiqqle for accent on the wreath, the bow and the dots for berries. I stamp Season's Greetings underneath the wreath, and on the inside of the card I stamped "May this holiday find you ..." also from Sketch It. I used wallet sized pictures of my kids, and made a frame using a piece of paper 1/4" larger than the picture with the corners punched to hold the card. I then adhered this frame to the inside of the card.

I wish I could post a picture, but I can't seem to find the card!!!

Default stand up cards

Last year I made stand up picture cards by using the fun frames. I added a piece of CS that was 5 inches long and scored it every 1 1/4 inches. If you bend it like the shape of a W, mono the verticle sides to the bottom edges of a verticle card and it will stand up on it's own. It's easy to mail flat too. Have fun!

Here's a link to the card I mentioned in the previous post

The category was changed so I thought it might be harder to find.

Here is a christmas photocard I did for a customer last year. Both the photo and the photo "frame" are adhered with temporary adhesive for easy removal. The card is sized to fit in the SU Large envelope. We were both very happy with the results. By the way - It's sized to fit a 3 1/2 x 5 photo.
