There are pictures of journals I created for my husband to record his Iraq experiences. The pics are in my gallery. But what I did was carefully roll the spiral out of the paper and covers. Then I took the covers and used that for a template and made new ones that I stamped on using my cardstock. Then I put it all together and rolled the coil back in. I took a little time at first but once you get used to it, it's quite easy. I find it gives me the best results too. I hope that makes sense. Feel free to check out the pics. Good luck and have fun! Journals and notebooks are my among my favorite things to do now!

What I do is ...

Take a sheet out of the notebook ...
Mark with a pencil where the holes are ...
use the appropriate size hole punch and punch out where the pencil marks are ...
Make tiny slits in the cardstock cutting into the punched out holes ...
Now, if the notebook has a really flimsy cover, I just tape the cardstock to the original flimsy cover. If the notebook has a stronger cover, I remove it and add the cardstock cover by slipping the holes over the wire.

Any questions, email me and maybe I can further explain.
