Magic snowflake technique on glossy printer paper

Hi -

Has anyone tried doing the Magic Snowflake technique using glossy photo paper? Will it work? If not, any suggestions on where to get Glossy Card stock since SU! does not carry it anymore?

I don't know anything about the technique you mentioned but I get glossy cardstock from Marco's: Coated (Glossy) Cardstocks

Don't know if the Magic Snowflake is the same as resist embossing,where you stamp in Versamark/pigment ink then add embossing powder and heat, but glossy photopaper is definitely not suitable for heat embossing. The chemical coated surface will burn and bubble. Trust me, I tried it! Ranger do a coated cardstock that should be available from a number of places.

I found this snowflake technique (never heard of it before the OP asked) on two YouTube videos (one of YouTube videos is by Beate/SCS) and the technique uses alcohol inks (thanks by the way - lol - I have bookmarked the videos). I don't think the photo paper will work well. There is some emulsion coating on the photo paper.

You can get the glossy cardstock from Marcos and also Ranger makes glossy cardstock and you should be able to find the Ranger glossy paper readily both online or in brick and mortar stores.
