I need help - I made some gorgeous collage dominoes, and can't seem to color them with pastels. I tried to "seal" it with acrylic matte sealer like I do my tiles, but it must be alcohol based as it washed off my Stayzon. Anybody have any ideas? I have a workshop next week for this and it's just got to work as they are so cute!
thanks,
katie
ps: Hi Mary!
I've attached a link to a thread where this was discussed previously in great depth/length (3-pages). I think you'll be able to find your answers there. Good luck...
I soak my dominos in bleach for 5-7 days to remove the acrylic finish. Once it is off, I stamp an image either Staz-On or Fabrico, then I can color it with pencils. Then I reseal with Plaid Gloss Acrylic sealer. TIP: Do *not* use watercolor pencils - the pigment will run when you reseal the dominos...trust me on this!

I have yet to find dominoes that arent' textured on the back so I can try making pins or something with them, but I was at Marshalls awhile back and got the nicest metal container of ceramic type dominoes. They were on clearance for like $2.00. I stamped on tissue paper and sortof decopauged that onto the domino and it looked ok. I colored the image a little with my color pencils or sharpies. Where do you all find the wooden dominoes at?

Holy Toledo! 5-7 days? Overnight usually does it for the domino's that I have used in the past.
