Default Question about Crayon Resist

Hi, I've been looking at this technique and would love to try. Just one question tho. Do you need to emboss your black image? Just asking as I thought that if you sponge your colour over your images, wont that cover your black image???

Cheers
Alisa

Hi Alisa,
You don't need to emboss the black. No problem with the color covering up the black...it will always show through. I find glossy cardstock works best. Let the black dry just a few seconds--then the crayon, then the additional color is sponged on or brayered. When complete, buff it like crazy with a soft paper towel or a Swiffer cloth. Most of all, have fun...this is one of my favorite techniques.

Thanks very much for this. I tried it today, I did emboss the black but only because I was too lazy to downstairs to my garage and get out my dye inpad. lol. I really must get some stazon.

I can see this is going to be a favourite technique. Just need some more colours now.

Cheers
Alisa

Oh by the way, I used my fluid chalks to sponge over top.

Default Crayon Resist Idea

Hi Alissa! One of my new favorite techniques with the crayon resist is to stamp the image in black on the glossy, then use the sponge to color over only the image, then use the crayon to resist certain parts of the image, then use the sponge and another color to sponged over the entire surface. What you end up with when you remove the crayon is the first color you used instead of white. I will be posting a card I did like that as soon as the gallery is up! Have fun with this one!

Oooh, I like that. It's a sassy take on the crayon resist technique.

how do you "take off" the crayon? Is this a normal process of this technique? Or only becuase you want some of the color beneath to show? I ahve awhite crayon but have never used this technique.
