Default using paper doilies

Has anyone ever used, or know where I can get some ideas for using, PAPER DOILIES?? I picked up a pk at the store recently, thinking there HAD to be some creative use for them and I am pretty sure there IS, but I'd love to see some layouts using them.

I've started by inking the doily w/ a sponge..works great. That way I can get them stained any color for any palette.

I'm making some 'vintage' style cards for a friend and just KNOW there have to be some creative uses for these things!?

Thanks for any leads!

Kim

I've seen lots of card on various blogs using doilies as a pretty layer (or part layer) - maybe try doing a gallery search and see what comes up?

Have fun!

Funny enough I've just written about using Paper Doilies as one of Cardmaking-Companion's "Tip of the Week".

In a nutshell- they look really good when used as faux lace, for example pleated around the edge of a heart shape or box shape.

I remembered where I'd seen a couple of them:

Sweet and simple - Gezzy B's cute Christmas card

Karen's wedding album with doily fan - here

Carolyn's challenge card - here

HTH!

Susan, I've signed up for your lovely newsletter...went to look for the article you mentioned but don't see it on the issue I opened.

Is it not published yet? You can see I'm a bit anxious to get started!

Looking forward to gleaning some wonderful ideas from you and your team!

Thanks for your kind words about my newsletter. The newsletter is issued monthly but you will also get a weekly "Tip of the Week" and I have written about the Doilies in that sequence.

I will e-mail it to you seperately and if you any queries then just drop me an email.

Best wishes

Susan

Good evening "stamper 1942" and "Marsh Hen", sorry it's taken me a few days to get back to you.
Thank you both for signing up to my newsletter - I hope you'll enjoy my "News and Views" - if you have any comments then I'd love to hear from you.
With regard to the "Tips"- they are in a sequence but I'll email you seperately as requested.

Happy Crafting!

Cardmaking Susan.
