I bought a few today..... So now, what do I do with them? Do you stamp on card stock, use crystal effectsto glue paper to marble and then glue magnet sheet cut out to back of paper?
I have found that the alphaaccent jrs fit on the smaller marbles w/out cutting. You can get the small round magnets (stronger). I 1st cut a sheet & put a piece on it, but they didn't hold up on the fridge. use crystal effects to glue all.
The absolute cutest way I've seen these flat marbles used was a sample posted here on Splitcoast by CAStampinMel. She used the fish in a fish bowl (from Little Hellos) and mounted the marble overtop of the fishbowl for a 3-D effect! I CASED it, naturally,(thank you CAStampinMel!) and my friend went nuts over it.
This is the first time I've tried to do direct link to a sample, so don't expect perfection Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Another idea can be seen in the "Anything But Cards" gallery. Click on "Gift Ideas" and Jennifer Jones has posted several adorable magnets in a variety of themes - Alison
Wow, I have seen some great examples here! I think I will have to make sure to use Stazon ink though.... I have been gluing them with crsytal effects and it is making the ink run on some of them. I just used Basic Black.
I figured using black ep would be too bumpy. Any one tried that?
I've just given my upline my swap cards. They all use the larger marbles. I've stamped the bee from "the fine print" set, colored him in and glued the glass over him with Crystal Effects. It helps to read that fine print too!!! So, if you get a Brill blue and yo yo yell card, with a circle gift tag and a marble on it - it's from me!! I just wish I was the one swapping and not my upline!!! I've also made magnets. The only problem with the magnets is, you have to make sure whatever you are gluing the magnet to, doesn't separate from the paper. I had that happen when I thought I was being inventive and used cardboard from a soda container to glue the marbles on. ~Pam
I use GE Household Silicone II Glue. Clear of course!!! I have had mine hanging on my fridge for about 10 months now, and they have held up great. It takes awhile for them to set up. Just a dab of silicone. I leave mine sit overnight and then use the same thing to glue on the magnet and let it sit overnight also. I'm not sure if you have to leave sit that long, but that is how I did it. The silicone is very affordable. My demo showed me this trick!!! Hope it helps.
LOL...you ladies just get my creative juices flowing WAY too late at night. Do you think I could get by without any sleep for a week, so I can try just a handful of all these wonderful ideas?
