Default Thumping technique

I have seen some cards that use a 'thumping' technique and was wondering what that is. I can't seem to find directions anywhere.

Thanks for you help...

Mary

I have instructions in my technique scrapbook. I'll try to post them soon.

It's pretty basic. Take a solid stamp and ink it up. Take a couple of coordinating color markers and tap the side of the brush onto the inked stamp surface.

I used to do this with a solid cat stamp, for instance. I'd ink the stamp in a mustard color, then take some darker markers and "thump" them against the cat. It looks really neat, and gives the image a lot of texture.

Instructions from my demo:

Ink stamp with classic ink. Using a coordinating color of a brush marker, thump the color onto the stamp as if your were holding a drumstick. Huff on the stamp and then stamp the image onto the cardstock for a multicolored effect.

(Our example was on Lovely as a Tree and it looks pretty neat!)

Very interesting. I don't have many markers so I used a q-tip and refill ink. Looks like just a little splatter/dots of color here and there. Now that I have all of these practice ones laying around I need to figure out what to do with them...giggle.

Thanks ladies. If you have any cards made from this technique let me know. I would love to see them.

Hugs,

Mary

Although I get the concept of this, I wasn't sure what it would look like. So I did a search in the gallery for "thumping" and there are lots of cards there to get ideas from.
