Question How to create bottom of onsie sleeve (armpit) using punch?

Hello Oh Great Wise and Willing to Share Ones:

I've fallen in love with Lauren's onsie card. I made my first one about a week ago and took it my "stamp night out" aka stamp club. (Of course everyone loved it - thanks Lauren!) We discussed how making the bottom part of the sleeve (aka the armpit) is the hardest part of the card. My demo said she thought you could do it with a punch rather than an exacto knife equivalent, but we tried to line up a few of her punches to that part of my card and none of the shapes matched.

So, does anyone know how to create the bottom part of the onsie sleeve with a punch?

TIA. You all are the best

I cannot believe I misspelled onesie 3 times in that post.

So now I'm putting it in correctly so searches will find it.

Onesie, Onesie, Onesie.

(Side note: I was not able to find the "edit" button that the FAQ references. Do only certainly people have it show up

I have used a circle punch to make the armholes on onesies --- I'm not sure why that doesn't work for you - maybe if you included a link to the card you are referring to???

Re the edit button, for some reason they took that away from us as far as the regular forum. It might still be in the comments in the gallery though. . .
Modulators can edit (I think)

This isn't my card but mine looks just like it:
Lauren's Onsie Card! by stephanie.hargis at Splitcoaststampers

My question is how do you make the bottom part of the sleeve, "the armpit" for lack of a better word which is created in this card by cutting out the tall skinny rectangle with an xacto knife instead with a punch?

TIA.

Oh, you are right - that definitely ISN'T a punch - I just cut in about 1/2 inch on each side - 1 3/4 inches from the top. Then I very carefully cut on an angle down to the top of the leg hole. Hope this makes sense. . .

That's exactly what I did too. And it was the hardest part of the card so I'm hoping for the punch version to make it easier.

Thanks for your help!
