Default Lollipops on July Stampin 'Sucess Magazine

Does anyone have any idea how Loni did the lollipops with stamps on it?
I would really like to try this out.

TIA,
Jennifer

Hmmmmmmmmm. Could it be the melted/molded candy for suckers? (Any other ideas??)
Food coloring must be the "ink", with small cello bags for wrapping! Cute party favors!

Hi! Another demo sent me the directions today that THE creator sent to her. Since I have NO CLUE how to do attachments or anything, I'm going to paste it here:

Stamping on Lollipops

Materials:
*Lollipop molds (metal type)
*Lollipop sticks
Heavy duty cookie sheet or marble slab
Small sauce pan
Wooden spoon
++Foam stamp pad
*Paste food coloring
Stamps
Candy thermometer

Recipe:
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup light corn syrup
Heavy duty cookie sheet or marble slab
 cup water
to add later: tsp. oil flavoring, food coloring, *liquid whitening

Instructions:
Spray molds with cooking spray and lay on cookie sheet. Place a stick
through the end clip, about halfway into the mold. Make lollipops by
combining sugar, corn syrup and water in small saucepan (if the pan is too large, it may cause the syrup to burn). Cook and stir on medium-high
heat until mixture is 300 F (hard crack stage). Remove from heat and
cool to 275, then add coloring and oil flavoring. Pour into molds until
half full.

Quickly add a few drops of whitener to remaining syrup and then
continue to fill the molds completely. Use spoon to wipe "strings" as you
pour. CAUTION: syrup is VERY HOT!

Dip a stick into paste food coloring and spread evenly onto foam pad.
Lollipops are ready to stamp when you can see a fingerprint when touched (they will still be warm). Ink stamp on food coloring pad and press into candy until you feel it give, then pull straight up. As they cool,
more pressure will be needed to impress the image. You can stamp on a
cold lollipop, but it will not have the impressed or embossed effect.

To remove molds, undo clip and slide mold up or down, being careful not
to bend out of shape.

TIPS:
Caution! Don't lick candy until completely cool! Also, strings and
rough edges can be very sharp. IF YOU BURN A BATCH: DO NOT hold under running water! It can explode and burn you. Take it outside and pour on grass or dirt. Soak pan in hot water to clean. If syrup gets too thick while pouring, re-heat once, stirring constantly.

2-3 drops of whitener will make syrup pastel or opaque, 10-20 drops
will make it white. You do not have to use whitener, but it makes the
stamped image easier to see.

Wrap lollipops in small plastic bags when completely cool (leave
them overnight to dry food coloring first). Wrap a piece of tape around
the bag & stick to seal.

Store at room temperature.

Add a stamped tag (stamped with a limited license set such as Hand-Made
with Love) and use for fund-raisers, advertising, scouts, birthday
parties, holidays, baby showers, prizes, etc.

* Items can be bought at a cake/candy supply store
++ Foam pad: www.purrfection.com/pelles/tools.htm or other supplier

I've stamped on cookies using Kid's stamping ink (the non-toxic kind). Stamping directly onto say, a sugar cookie, or on smooth icing. Works really well!!

I've read in a few magazines where I CASEd the idea that said the small amount of non-toxic stamping ink is just fine to digest.

Always fun at a party!
