Default How to decorate Rubbermaid box

I would like to decorate a rubbermaid container. The container is for my four year old niece so she can store her costumes & dress-up clothes. I want to add gems & other girly things to the lid & the sides. I need to know what is best to attach them. Hot glue, crazy glue...I want the beads & gems to be stuck as best as possible!
TIA

Hot glue should work okay for this. I don't think they'd come off too easily, but you might end up picking the dried strings of glue off between gems. ;)
