Question Trying to make gum holders for the first time

I hope this is the right place to ask this question. I've been looking through several sets of directions and they all say to used the word window punch which the gum is then put into. Well, I don't have a word window punch. I was wondering how I might improvise and what has worked for anyone else.
Thanks!!!
Marji

Cutting a rectangle with an exacto knife would work.... just need a slot of some sort to stick the gum through.......

Of course the punch is a lot more fun!

when I made spinner cards before buying the punch, we punched out two holes (make yours as far apart as you need for the gum with a little wiggle room to spare - and even across from each other). The holes were half an inch I think. Then we cut out a piece between those holes, quarter of an inch thick - kind of in the middle of the holes. My measurements are probably off because its been forever, but that would give you a space to slide those gum pieces in. An oval punch would probably work too if you have one of those. Just need a space to get the gum in.

Thanks so much ladies! I'm still new to all of this and was completely stumped, but after reading your posts, I smacked myself on the head and said DUH!
Thanks again!

I do that all the time! Smack myself after reading something on this site. Sometimes I wonder if I can think outside the box at all! Good luck on the gum holders.
