Default SU! Perfect Layers Tool!

Can a veteran please give me some tips and/or tricks on using the SU Perfect Layers tool?

I read the directions that came with the tool. But . . . It says the measurement printed on the tool corresponds to the line closest to that measurement. However, I'm having trouble identifying which line goes to which measurement because there are multiple "lines".

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi! This is how explain this to my customers...
Each tool has 4 measurements on it. When you look at it, 2 will be read correctly and 2 will be read in backwards. So, let's say that you want to cut a 1/16" mat for something. You would lay the tool so that the 1/16 is read correctly, not backwards. Then, you would see 1/16 on the right side of the tool and 1/2 on the left side of the tool. For me, I am right-handed, so I place the 1/16 lip at the right edge of the paper I am cutting. For someone who is left-handed, I think that the 1/16 would be to the left side of the paper being cut.

Sometimes I find that the lip does not catch on the edge of the top piece of paper. When this happens, I very gently run my finger (nail side up) along the edge and just lift the paper enough so that the lip of the tool will catch.

I hope that this makes sense.
