Default Heated Pearls?

:? I heard this technique "Heated Pearls" mentioned on the condensed milk thread. Would anyone take the time to tell me how to do it and maybe point me to some samples? Thanks!

Hello!!

Here's how I do it...

Supplies
--Black Glossy Cardstock (either buy black glossy or use white glossy and brayer it with black ink)
--White Glue (like Elmers)
--Pearl Ex
--Stipple Brush
--Heat Gun

Instructions
Using 1/4 sheet of black glossy cardstock put a half-dollar sized glob of glue in the middle. Take your stipple brush and pounce the glue all over the cardstock - this should be a fairly thick layer. Sprinkle Pearl-Ex over the glue and pounce around with the stipple brush. Use heat gun to dry the glue. It will bubble up forming "pearls". Use this as a background.

And, here's a website with instructions and examples...

Hope that helps!!

Default I like it!

Here is my first attempt. I made my own black glossy paper by braying with black. (Boy is that a mess to clean off of your rubber brayer! Any tips on that would be appreciated!) Then I used red/blue duo and blue/green duo pearl-ex. I like it! Thank you for teaching me!

Default Heated Pearls

THanks for the sample! I have a spare roller for my brayer that I use only for black.

Default Cleaning your brayer

I don't know if this is a mute point but I use baby wipes to clean my brayer. I 'brayer' off most of the ink on a scrap paper then wipe it clean with a baby wipe. It's kept my SU! brayer looking nice. I have another brayer that I use for messy stuff that I don't care what it looks like and baby wipes made that look a little better too!
