Fun Foam Challenge
 

If I may, I would love to hear what some of y'all have done with embossed fun foam. For those who don't know what I'm talking about: Heat a piece of fun foam w/ your heat gun, then slam your stamp in it while it is still warm. It will permanently emboss it. Trim it & put it.....? Do any of you have anything posted to look at? Has a new idea come to mind just now? Make it & show us! Thanks, Juddaca

Oh I just did this for a swap I just mailed out yesterday. I tried that with a twist on the rubber cement. I wasn't sure whether I I should have put it up in my gallery since it is for a swap.
I am pleased with the results it was fun to do, but if you do a lot of them then your arm hurts after a while :o It is fun to do.

That is so cool! My sister in law keeps givng me this stuff and I tried stamping on it just to have it smear so I was at a loss as to what to do with it. NOW I KNOW! Thank you. I hope more ideas come in to use these things up.

Keep in mind that I mainly do cards for a children's charity and using the flower shaped style I have stamped a long flower stem and used these as the flower head.

Here's one that I did with fun foam. I trimmed it after I stamped on it. Then I attached it with black brads.

This is something I've never heard of, but I think I will try! A lot less messy than doing the faux wax seal!!!

Is "fun foam" the flat sheets of foam they sell at craft stores? I love the idea and have to try!!

I love fun foam stamping! Here's one card where I stamped a rose stamp onto a precut out heart "foamie" shape. The WOW-factor is really upped a notch if you do something to your foam after stamping....I like to rub Metallic-Rub-ons onto it. Or the Future Floor Wax technique where you put Future Floor Wax into an aquapainter, dip it in pearl ex, and paint it onto the stamped foam.

You ladies are amazing!!! I would never have thought of Fun Foam as a medium for cards! I LOVE the examples that you posted....WOW....the possibilities are endless!

I have done a bit with fun foam. Here's one that I did the basic tech then rubbed with VersaMark to emboss for reverse image. Think that's what I mean

Thank you, hooahwife, for the compliment. One of the first places I l learned about foam stamping was from the Technique Junkies Newsletter (www.techniquejunkies.com). I also just remembered that I have the follow foam tips and ideas in my files:

Using “Foamies�? (cut out foam shapes)

Stamping On Foam
1.Heat with a heat tool and when the edges start to curl, press an uninked stamp into the foam. Push down hard and leave the stamp in the foam for a few minutes while it cools. I like to use double backed or double sided tape to stick the foamie onto a magazine covered with aluminum foil. This prevents the air from the heat tool from blowing it around and the foil creates hotter heat faster.
2.If you don't like the imprint, reheat, the image will fade and you can try again. After 3 or 4 times, it will eventually become brittle and unusable so don't do it too many times.
3.The key to turning neat project into a WOW project is by decorating. Decorate by:
a. rubbing with metallic rub-ons
b. painting with a watercolor brush dipped in Future Floor Polish and then into Pearl Ex powder
c. paint with Radiant Pearls/perfect pearls OR Lumiere mixed with Pearl Ex
d. rub with chalks
Hint: When choosing a stamp to use, think a bit “outside the box�?. If the foamie is small, any stamp with a texture will look neat on it and you won't see the shape of the stamp. For example, I stamped a large snowflake onto a small heart.

2.Run the foam shape through a crimper. Optional: decorate as above

3.Stamp on them with ink.

4.Glue 3 or 4 of the same shape together and then glue onto a wood block and use as a stamp.

5.Add details with markers.
