I have had several inquiries about how to do this..... So I thought I would post it here.
The Shading on this cat and the others like it was done by :
1)Stamping the image (stamp) in the lightest tone you will use. Everything is done on the stamp Before you Kiss the paper with it!
2) marker over the edges with the next darkest tone. Making sure to make your strokes wide. This doesn't seem to harm my markers to go right over the ink.
3) Go around the edges with the final darkest color in a thinner line.
4)Detail with your marker additional color.... like the blue eyes on this cat. they were saved for last.
5) Huff on your stamp to re-moisten the image.
6) stamp!
Hope that helps you all!

What a beautiful card!!! I ordered this set! I didn't really think too much of it when I first saw it, but then I thought the boldness could have some really great embossing possibilities!!! Thanks for sharing!

Just one thing about the instructions, which are great... At first I didn't understand that you don't *stamp* until the end. At first I thought you stamped w/ the light color, then did the markers on the image once it's on the paper. Maybe no one else thought this, but I thought I'd clarify that for anyone like me. <G>
Susan - I thought that at first too, but then figured it out
Tandra - HI!! The big hair had to go. I was starting to get too embarrssed to post. My new pic was just taken over the weekend at my b-day party. So that is what I *really* look like.
Joy - WooHoo - 6000 posts!!!!!!! Did you even notice???? WooHoo!!! Been missing you. Haven't seen much of you lately.
Lisa - we'll have to add LLCT to our series of techniques for future classes and swaps!!! :o
Rats! I knew SOMEBODY on SCS would make me want this set! And I am NOT a cat person. You win LisaLisa. I think you made me buy Bundle Up too!
Seriously though - you should send this card in to SU. Great job!
Julie
Thanks! I wish I had that effect on my DH!!
I stopped sending stuff to SU a while agao..... They dont like my stuff. I might send this one in. They have been about a year behind the trends.... I sent in a DTP about a year and a half ago.... They must have been "yuck!, thats ONE messy card!"
I love this cool cat set... So many possibilities. I love it in its Plain bold image too. Jenn Balcer and Cyndi Lyles are putting some Big Bombs in the gallery... check them out for some incredible fun ideas!
This is the first I've seen part of the stamp set. Being a cat person, I'm going to have to get this one. It's a really neat card. (Do they still say "Neat"?)
People like you make this site so much fun. I saved your information and the picture to go with it in my word files. That file sure is filling up fast since I found this site.
Grace??.... you live super close to me!!! Whoohooo!!! I think we need a stampin night. I think I need more hours in the day!
Lisa Lisa....I would love to stamp with you but I'm a lot further away than you think...I like in the South East Corner of British Columbia...very near the Alberta border!
BUT, I have family in Vancouver so the next time I'm down there maybe we could connect! LOVE to stamp anywhere, anytime!
